Everyone knows the saying, “the early bird gets the worm.” Join yoga instructor, Rachel Morochnik, for sunrise yoga every Monday and Wednesday morning. Sunrise yoga is dedicated to waking up your body and getting a jumpstart on the day. Morochnik said, “you can expect to sweat in my classes, and I try to always involve movement meditation into class. We tend to do modified sun salutations, with an emphasis on core and muscle isolation. My class focuses on building a strong foundation, so it is perfect for beginner and experienced yogis alike.” Drop-in for a class this upcoming Monday or Wednesday and see how sunrise yoga can give you a head start on your day!

If waking up before the sun is not your cup of tea, join yogi, William Milne, for one of his afternoon classes. Milne teaches yoga flow on Mondays at 5 pm and power yoga on Tuesdays at 5pm. “These classes are 45 minutes and include a wide variety of movements to address the whole body. The focus is on improving strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on breathing cues and mental techniques to train the mind and nervous system.” Yoga is about more than just exercise. Milne remarked, “students can expect to receive guidance toward increasing their physical, mental and emotional awareness. We always end up with some time for relaxation to help the body recover and the mind unwind.” Stop in for either of these yoga class during finals for some much-needed mind and body relaxation.

“There really is no right way to do it, and that’s what makes yoga so accessible and enjoyable,” said Milne.  Grab your friends and join the instructors for free yoga classes during finals! For more information on group fitness classes, go to crc.gatech.edu/group.
